About the Role
An exciting opportunity is available for an experienced Veterinary Surgeon in Truro, Cornwall, joining a clinically driven and supportive first opinion team with a strong focus on professional development, wellbeing and high standards of patient care.
This is a full-time, 40-hour-per-week role, with time split between practices in Truro and Newquay. Shifts are scheduled between 7:45am and 7:15pm, with a rota of 1 in 6 full weekends in Newquay and 1 in 6 Saturday mornings in Truro, with time off in lieu.
There are no out-of-hours duties, as dedicated hospitalisation and OOH provision is available.
The role would suit an experienced GP Veterinary Surgeon who is confident managing a varied caseload and can occasionally work sole charge. Flexibility can be considered for the right candidate.

Responsibilities
Provide high-quality first opinion small animal veterinary care.
Conduct thorough consultations and clinical examinations.
Manage a varied medical and surgical caseload.
Develop appropriate diagnostic and treatment plans.
Perform routine surgical procedures according to experience.
Communicate clearly and empathetically with clients.
Manage client expectations while delivering excellent customer service.
Work collaboratively with Veterinary Surgeons, nurses and support colleagues.
Participate in clinical discussions, training and knowledge sharing.
Occasionally work sole charge when required.
Maintain high standards of patient welfare and clinical governance.
Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate will be an experienced GP Veterinary Surgeon who is confident working in a busy first opinion environment and can adapt to a varied caseload.
They will ideally have:
Strong experience in small animal general practice.
Confidence managing medical and surgical cases.
The ability to work independently when required.
Excellent client communication and relationship-building skills.
An empathetic approach to managing client expectations.
A collaborative and team-focused attitude.
A genuine interest in continuing professional development.
An interest in pursuing a certificate or further clinical qualification.
Candidates should be confident enough to hit the ground running, while being willing to contribute to the supportive and development-focused culture of the team.
