Pennsylvania licensing for veterinarians
To practice in Pennsylvania, veterinarians must be licensed by the Pennsylvania State Board of Veterinary Medicine. The standard route includes:
Graduate from an AVMA-accredited DVM/VMD program or complete ECFVG/PAVE certification.
Pass the NAVLE (North American Veterinary Licensing Examination).
Pass the Pennsylvania jurisprudence (state law) examination.
Submit the required application and documentation to the State Board.
Renew biennially with continuing education requirements.
