Associate Veterinarian – General Practice/Urgent Care Hybrid

The Opportunity:
A well-established, veterinarian-led small animal practice in the dynamic urban environment of Charlotte, NC, is seeking an Associate Veterinarian to join a collaborative and growing clinical team. The hospital offers comprehensive general practice services with a strong focus on client relationships and high-quality patient care, and will be expanding to offer urgent care services in mid-2025.
This role offers an exciting opportunity to work alongside a highly experienced medical director with a reputation for mentorship and support, in a practice that truly values autonomy, development, and compassion in veterinary medicine.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver exceptional, individualized care to companion animals in a busy GP setting
- Perform common surgical procedures including soft tissue surgeries, dental extractions, and minor urgent care treatments
- Rotate weekend coverage and urgent care shifts (beginning July 2025)
- Promote the human-animal bond through clear client communication and education
- Lead by example with professionalism, integrity, and respect
Ideal Candidate Profile:
- DVM or VMD from an AVMA-accredited institution
- Active veterinary license (or eligibility) in the practicing state – all licensing costs covered if relocation is required
- Competence in general practice procedures and surgeries
- Urgent care or emergency experience is a plus, though not required
- Strong interpersonal skills and a genuine passion for client and patient care
- Desire for mentorship and long-term professional development
