About the Role
A full-service small animal veterinary practice in East Asheville, North Carolina is seeking a dedicated Associate Veterinarian to join a collaborative and supportive team. This is an excellent opportunity for veterinarians of all experience levels, including recent graduates, to practice high-quality medicine while receiving mentorship from experienced colleagues.
The successful candidate will provide compassionate care to patients, communicate effectively with clients, and work alongside a skilled team of veterinarians, technicians, and support staff to maintain efficient and productive operations.

This two-doctor, full-service small animal practice specializes in urgent care, wellness, sick visits, and surgical services including puppy spay and kitten neuter procedures. The hospital operates in a brand-new, state-of-the-art facility with advanced diagnostic equipment to support high-quality patient care.

Responsibilities
Examine and treat companion animals to detect and manage disease or injuries
Operate diagnostic equipment, collect samples, and interpret results
Advise clients on preventive care and treatment options
Perform surgeries and prescribe medications as required
Provide counseling around end-of-life care
Maintain accurate patient medical records
Ensure compliance with veterinary ethics, state regulations, and practice policies
Candidate Profile
DVM or VMD degree from an accredited AVMA institution
Licensed (or eligible for licensure) in North Carolina
Eligibility to obtain DEA/BNDD certification
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Professional and courteous demeanor with clients and staff
Ability to lift patients and equipment up to 25 pounds independently, and over 25 pounds with assistance
Collaborative, motivated, and eager to learn in a team environment
Compensation & Benefits
Salary range: $115,000 – $130,000 per year
