Responsibilities

  • Examine and treat companion animals to diagnose illness and injury

  • Perform medical, dental, and surgical procedures, including soft tissue and orthopedic cases

  • Operate diagnostic equipment and interpret laboratory and imaging results

  • Advise clients on preventative care and treatment options

  • Prescribe medications and manage ongoing treatment plans

  • Provide compassionate end-of-life care and client support

  • Maintain accurate and thorough medical records

  • Ensure compliance with veterinary ethics, regulations, and protocols

  • Collaborate effectively with veterinary technicians and support staff

Candidate Profile

  • DVM or VMD degree from an AVMA-accredited institution

  • Licensed or eligible for licensure in the state of Texas

  • Eligibility to obtain DEA licensure

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Professional, compassionate approach with clients and colleagues

  • Interest in small animal general practice and surgery
