Responsibilities
Examine, diagnose, and treat small animal patients (dogs and cats), with occasional exposure to exotics
Develop and communicate treatment plans with empathy and clarity
Perform soft-tissue surgery and dentistry
Interpret diagnostics including in-house lab work, digital radiography, and ultrasound
Prescribe medications and recommend preventative care plans
Maintain accurate, timely medical records
Provide compassionate end-of-life counseling and support
Practice medicine in accordance with veterinary ethics and state regulations
Candidate Profile
DVM or VMD from an AVMA-accredited program
Eligible for or currently licensed to practice in Alabama
Eligible to obtain DEA and BNDD registration
Comfortable practicing general small animal medicine
Interested in developing skills in surgery and dentistry
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Collaborative, adaptable, and calm in a busy practice setting
Values teamwork and respects the role of technicians and support staff
