A well-established small animal veterinary practice in North Carolina is seeking a compassionate and skilled Associate Veterinarian to join a collaborative and supportive four-doctor team. The successful candidate will work alongside veterinarians, technicians, and support staff to provide preventive, medical, and surgical care. Responsibilities
Examine and treat companion animals to detect and manage disease or injuries
Operate diagnostic equipment, collect samples, and interpret results
Advise clients on preventive care and treatment options
Perform surgeries and prescribe medications as required
Provide counseling for end-of-life care
Maintain accurate patient medical records
Ensure compliance with veterinary ethics, state regulations, and hospital policies
Candidate Profile
DVM or VMD degree from an accredited AVMA institution
Licensed (or eligible for licensure) in North Carolina
Eligible to obtain DEA/BNDD certification
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Professional, courteous, and team-oriented demeanor
Ability to lift patients and equipment up to 25 pounds independently; over 25 pounds with assistance
Collaborative, adaptable, and motivated to grow professionally in a team environment
Compensation & Benefits
Salary range: $115,000 – $130,000 per year
