A well-established small animal veterinary practice in North Carolina is seeking a compassionate and skilled Associate Veterinarian to join a collaborative and supportive four-doctor team. The successful candidate will work alongside veterinarians, technicians, and support staff to provide preventive, medical, and surgical care. Responsibilities

  • Examine and treat companion animals to detect and manage disease or injuries

  • Operate diagnostic equipment, collect samples, and interpret results

  • Advise clients on preventive care and treatment options

  • Perform surgeries and prescribe medications as required

  • Provide counseling for end-of-life care

  • Maintain accurate patient medical records

  • Ensure compliance with veterinary ethics, state regulations, and hospital policies

Candidate Profile

  • DVM or VMD degree from an accredited AVMA institution

  • Licensed (or eligible for licensure) in North Carolina

  • Eligible to obtain DEA/BNDD certification

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Professional, courteous, and team-oriented demeanor

  • Ability to lift patients and equipment up to 25 pounds independently; over 25 pounds with assistance

  • Collaborative, adaptable, and motivated to grow professionally in a team environment
