Position: Associate Veterinarian – Small Animal / Shelter Focus
Schedule: Full-time, regular hours, no on-call, two Saturdays per month
Salary: Flexible base salary + competitive production bonus, with sign-on and relocation assistance available

A small animal practice in Flora is seeking a compassionate Associate Veterinarian to provide high-quality care while supporting local shelter and rescue initiatives. About the Practice

The practice is a general small animal clinic equipped with digital X-ray, dental X-ray, ultrasound, and cold laser therapy. Veterinarians are supported by skilled technicians and staff, and electronic medical records streamline patient care.

The clinic actively supports Clay County shelter programs and hosts weekly spay/neuter days, giving doctors the opportunity to make a real difference in the community. Responsibilities

  • Provide wellness, surgical, and diagnostic care for companion animals

  • Support local shelter and rescue outreach programs

  • Collaborate with a team of experienced, skilled veterinary professionals

  • Mentor and educate clients on preventive care and community initiatives

Candidate Profile

  • Licensed or eligible DVM in Illinois

  • Passionate about both clinical care and community involvement

  • Strong communication and client-education skills

  • Collaborative team player who values a supportive, positive environment

  • Open to both new graduates and experienced veterinarians
