About the Role
A full-service small animal veterinary practice in Hendersonville, North Carolina is seeking a compassionate and skilled Associate Veterinarian to join their growing team. This is an excellent opportunity for veterinarians of all experience levels, including recent graduates, to provide high-quality, evidence-based care in a modern, well-equipped facility.
The successful candidate will work alongside experienced veterinarians and support staff to deliver medical, surgical, and preventive care. They will have the opportunity to develop their skills in surgery, dentistry, diagnostics, and wellness care while contributing to a collaborative and productive team environment.
About the Practice
This AAHA-accredited hospital has served the Hendersonville community for over 60 years. The practice recently moved into a state-of-the-art 5,000 sq. ft. facility with 8 exam rooms, a dual dental suite, and advanced diagnostic and surgical equipment.
The hospital emphasizes collaboration, mentorship, and professional development. Veterinarians have access to modern technology, including laser surgical units, in-house lab analyzers, digital dental radiography, and advanced monitoring equipment. Responsibilities
Examine and treat companion animals to detect and manage disease or injuries
Operate diagnostic equipment, collect samples, and interpret results
Advise clients on preventive care and treatment options
Perform surgeries and prescribe medications as required
Provide counseling for end-of-life care
Maintain accurate patient medical records
Ensure compliance with veterinary ethics, state regulations, and hospital policies
Candidate Profile
DVM or VMD degree from an accredited AVMA institution
Licensed (or eligible for licensure) in North Carolina
Eligible to obtain DEA/BNDD certification
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Professional, courteous, and team-oriented demeanor
Ability to lift patients and equipment up to 25 pounds independently; over 25 pounds with assistance
Collaborative, adaptable, and motivated to grow professionally in a team environment
Compensation & Benefits
Salary range: $115,000 – $130,000 per year
Sign-on bonus: Up to $30,000
