About the Role
An established small animal general practice with urgent care services in Lakeland, Florida is seeking an Associate Veterinarian to join a high-performing, collaborative team. This is an excellent opportunity for veterinarians who enjoy varied caseloads, strong support staff, and the autonomy to practice high-quality medicine in a fast-paced, well-equipped hospital.
With 30–40 cases per doctor per day, a strong technician-to-doctor ratio, and transparent production metrics, this role offers both earning potential and work-life balance. New graduates are welcome with structured mentorship, while experienced veterinarians will appreciate the medical autonomy and leadership support.
About the Practice
Small Animal GP with Urgent Care services
Average 30–40 patients per doctor daily
3:1 support staff ratio (often higher)
Case mix includes wellness, surgery, dentistry, and urgent care
Modern diagnostics including digital radiography, ultrasound, in-house lab, and dental suite
Collaborative, teaching-focused culture with a high-touch approach to client care
Responsibilities
Provide high-quality medical and surgical care to small animal patients
Manage wellness, sick visits, dentistry, and urgent care cases
Build long-term client relationships through education and communication
Collaborate closely with technicians, CSRs, and leadership
Practice medicine with confidence, efficiency, and compassion
Candidate Profile
DVM/VMD from an accredited university
Licensed (or eligible) to practice veterinary medicine in Florida
Passionate about patient care and client relationships
Comfortable working in a high-volume hospital environment
Team-oriented with strong communication skills
Committed to continuous learning and professional growth
