A long-established mixed animal veterinary hospital in Midland, Texas is seeking an Associate Veterinarian to join their growing team. This opportunity offers a diverse and engaging caseload spanning small animal, equine, and large animal medicine, with flexibility to tailor the role to individual clinical interests.
They welcome all experience levels, including new graduates seeking mentorship and experienced veterinarians looking to expand or specialize their caseload. This role is particularly well suited to a veterinarian with a strong interest in small animal surgery, while also offering the ability to develop or maintain a large animal caseload if desired.

This full-service mixed animal hospital provides comprehensive care for companion animals, equine patients, and large animals. The practice supports patients from first wellness visits through all life stages and is known for long-standing client relationships and continuity of care.
The hospital is equipped with advanced diagnostic and treatment capabilities, including digital radiography, ultrasound, endoscopy, and a full in-house laboratory. A collaborative team culture and strong technical support allow veterinarians to practice high-quality medicine efficiently.
Responsibilities
Examine and treat patients to diagnose illness and injury
Perform medical and surgical procedures across small and large animal cases
Operate diagnostic equipment and interpret laboratory and imaging results
Advise clients on preventative care and treatment options
Prescribe medications and manage ongoing treatment plans
Provide compassionate end-of-life care and client communication
Maintain accurate and thorough medical records
Ensure compliance with veterinary ethics, regulations, and protocols
Collaborate closely with veterinary technicians and support staff
Candidate Profile
DVM or VMD degree from an AVMA-accredited institution
Licensed or eligible for licensure in the state of Texas
Eligibility to obtain DEA licensure
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Interest in mixed animal or small animal practice
Surgical interest preferred but not required
New graduates encouraged to apply with mentorship available
Compensation & Benefits
Competitive salary: $115,000 – $140,000 per year (negotiable based on experience)
$75,000 sign-on bonus
