Responsibilities
Perform physical exams, diagnose and treat medical conditions, and deliver preventive care based on patient needs and lifestyle
Conduct routine and complex surgeries, including spays, neuters, mass removals, and dentals
Develop treatment plans for hospitalized and day-care patients, ensuring continuity of care with referral hospitals as needed
Document all patient observations, diagnostics, treatments, and client communications accurately
Participate in rounds and contribute to a collaborative, educational work environment
Uphold hospital protocols and standards, including anesthesia, surgical, and safety procedures
Candidate Profile
Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM or VMD) from an AVMA-accredited school
Licensed to practice veterinary medicine in Louisiana in good standing
Active DEA and Controlled Substance licenses, or ability to obtain by start date
Proficient in anesthesia, surgery, and dentistry procedures
Excellent communication skills, professionalism, and compassion in stressful situations
Collaborative team player, open to learning, and adaptable to evolving practice protocols
