Responsibilities
Examine and treat companion animals to diagnose illness or injury
Operate diagnostic equipment and collect and interpret laboratory samples
Advise clients on preventative care and treatment options
Perform surgery and prescribe medications as needed
Provide compassionate end-of-life counseling
Maintain accurate and timely medical records
Ensure compliance with veterinary ethics, policies, and applicable regulations
Candidate Profile
DVM or VMD from an AVMA-accredited institution
Eligible for or currently holding Alabama veterinary licensure
Eligible to obtain DEA and BNDD registration
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Professional, courteous, and client-focused demeanor
Comfortable working collaboratively with veterinarians, technicians, and support staff
Ability to lift up to 25 pounds independently, with assistance for heavier patients
