A full-service small animal veterinary practice in Winston-Salem, North Carolina is seeking a skilled and compassionate Associate Veterinarian to join a collaborative and supportive clinical team. This role is ideal for veterinarians of all experience levels, including recent graduates, who want to practice high-quality, evidence-based medicine while expanding their surgical and clinical skillset.
The successful candidate will provide medical, surgical, and preventive care to small animal patients, work alongside experienced veterinarians and certified technicians, and contribute to a positive team culture.

This AAHA-accredited veterinary hospital has been serving the Winston-Salem community for over 20 years. The practice features a cohesive, tenured DVM team, experienced support staff, and certified veterinary technicians.
The hospital is equipped with a comprehensive in-house laboratory, digital radiography, and ultrasound, allowing veterinarians to deliver advanced medical and surgical care. The practice performs a broad range of procedures, from spays, neuters, and dental cleanings to fracture repair, gastrointestinal surgeries, splenectomies, urethrostomies, lateral stabilization for torn ACLs, and ear canal resections.

Responsibilities
Examine and treat companion animals to detect and manage disease or injuries
Operate diagnostic equipment, collect samples, and interpret results
Advise clients on preventive care and treatment options
Perform surgeries and prescribe medications as required
Provide counseling for end-of-life care
Maintain accurate patient medical records
Ensure compliance with veterinary ethics, state regulations, and hospital policies
Candidate Profile
DVM or VMD degree from an accredited AVMA institution
Licensed (or eligible for licensure) in North Carolina
Eligible to obtain DEA/BNDD certification
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Professional, courteous, and team-oriented demeanor
Ability to lift patients and equipment up to 25 pounds independently; over 25 pounds with assistance
Collaborative, motivated, and eager to grow professionally in a team environment
Compensation & Benefits
Salary range: $115,000 – $130,000 per year
