About the Practice
The hospital is part of a group of six full-service, 24/7 emergency and specialty referral facilities in the Carolinas, providing:
Multiple referral specialties including Internal Medicine, Cardiology, Neurology, Surgery, Oncology, Ophthalmology, Radiology, and more
24-hour emergency and critical care support

You will work alongside other specialists and experienced emergency veterinarians, supported by a highly qualified technical and administrative team.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct comprehensive patient exams and medical work-ups
Communicate effectively with clients regarding diagnoses, treatments, and follow-ups
Maintain accurate medical records and manage pharmacy responsibilities including controlled substances
Promote teamwork, efficiency, and high hospital standards
Participate in hospital rounds and evaluate protocols for optimal patient care
Contribute to practice management, training, and mentorship
Perform additional duties as assigned to support the hospital
Candidate Profile
DVM or VMD degree from an accredited college or university
Completed a 1-year rotational internship in small animal medicine, surgery, and emergency/critical care
Completion of a 3-year AVMA-approved residency program
Current State Veterinary License and DEA registration
Strong clinical, diagnostic, and communication skills
Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment
Capable of moderate physical work, including lifting up to 50 lbs
Preferred / Nice-to-Have:
Board Certification in Small Animal Internal Medicine
2–5 years post-residency experience
Advanced clinical skills across cardiovascular, orthopedic, neurological, and other systems
Professionalism, business acumen, and commitment to continuing education
Compensation & Benefits
Base salary $150,000–$250,000 USD, with sign-on and retention packages up to $75,000
