Responsibilities
Examine and treat companion animals to detect and manage disease or injuries
Provide specialized reproductive care, including neonatology and breeding management
Operate diagnostic equipment, collect samples, and interpret results
Advise clients on preventive care and reproductive treatment options
Perform general surgery and prescribe medications as needed
Maintain accurate patient medical records
Provide counseling on end-of-life care
Ensure compliance with veterinary ethics, state regulations, and hospital policies
Candidate Profile
Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree from an accredited AVMA institution
Licensed (or eligible for licensure) in North Carolina
Eligible to obtain DEA/BNDD certification
Board-certification in theriogenology preferred; experience in reproductive medicine desired
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Professional, courteous, and team-oriented demeanor
Ability to lift patients and equipment up to 25 pounds independently; over 25 pounds with assistance
Passion for purpose-bred dogs and small animal reproduction
Willingness to embrace mentorship and training opportunities
Compensation & Benefits
Salary range: $120,000 – $130,000 per year (negotiable based on experience)
Sign-on bonus: Up to $50,000
