Responsibilities

  • Examine and treat companion animals to detect and manage disease or injuries

  • Provide specialized reproductive care, including neonatology and breeding management

  • Operate diagnostic equipment, collect samples, and interpret results

  • Advise clients on preventive care and reproductive treatment options

  • Perform general surgery and prescribe medications as needed

  • Maintain accurate patient medical records

  • Provide counseling on end-of-life care

  • Ensure compliance with veterinary ethics, state regulations, and hospital policies

Candidate Profile

  • Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree from an accredited AVMA institution

  • Licensed (or eligible for licensure) in North Carolina

  • Eligible to obtain DEA/BNDD certification

  • Board-certification in theriogenology preferred; experience in reproductive medicine desired

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Professional, courteous, and team-oriented demeanor

  • Ability to lift patients and equipment up to 25 pounds independently; over 25 pounds with assistance

  • Passion for purpose-bred dogs and small animal reproduction

  • Willingness to embrace mentorship and training opportunities

Compensation & Benefits

  • Salary range: $120,000 – $130,000 per year (negotiable based on experience)
