A rapidly expanding emergency and specialty hospital in Ventura, California is seeking a Veterinary Internist to join their Internal Medicine team. This position is open to board-certified internists or residency-trained, board-eligible veterinarians, with full-time or part-time schedules available to suit lifestyle preferences.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and manage complex internal medicine cases in small animals

  • Collaborate with emergency, critical care, and specialty teams on patient care

  • Perform diagnostic procedures including ultrasound, endoscopy, and advanced imaging

  • Communicate effectively with clients regarding treatment plans and prognoses

  • Mentor and support colleagues, sharing expertise and best practices

  • Participate in daily rounds and case discussions

  • Maintain accurate medical records and uphold clinical excellence

Candidate Profile

  • DVM or equivalent from an accredited veterinary school

  • Board-certified or residency-trained, board-eligible internist

  • Active California veterinary license

  • Strong communication and client education skills

  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, multi-doctor environment

  • Collaborative, detail-oriented, and team-focused approach

  • Experience with emergency or critical care preferred but not required
