Responsibilities

  • Perform advanced soft tissue and orthopedic surgeries for small animals

  • Provide perioperative care and postoperative management in ICU and step-down wards

  • Collaborate with emergency and critical care teams to manage complex cases

  • Mentor and guide veterinary technicians, assistants, and junior clinicians

  • Participate in teaching and mentorship for veterinary students and residents

  • Implement and maintain high standards of patient care, protocols, and quality assurance

  • Communicate effectively with clients, colleagues, and referring veterinarians

Candidate Profile

  • DVM (or equivalent) from an accredited institution

  • Board-Certified (DACVS) or Residency-Trained Veterinary Surgeon

  • Licensed or license-eligible in California

  • DEA registration or eligibility

  • Strong clinical skills in soft tissue and orthopedic surgery

  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and leadership skills

  • Passion for mentoring and teaching

  • Professionalism, ethics, and ability to provide constructive feedback

  • Physical ability to lift, stoop, and handle surgical patients safely
