About the Role
They are seeking a Full-Time or Part-Time Emergency Veterinarian (DVM) to join a 24/7 emergency and trauma center in Swansboro, NC. This role provides flexible scheduling, medical autonomy, and a supportive work environment while allowing veterinarians to deliver high-quality emergency medicine and surgery.
Whether a new graduate or an experienced emergency veterinarian, doctors will have access to mentorship and guidance tailored to their needs, ensuring growth and confidence in emergency medicine.
About the Practice
The hospital is a progressive emergency and trauma center with a focus on high-quality, collaborative veterinary medicine. Their goal is to allow veterinarians to focus on patient care without micromanagement, supported by a team of RVTs, assistants, kennel technicians, and CSRs.
Facilities and technology include:
High-resolution DR radiographs, ultrasound, and endoscope
LigaSure vessel sealing device, cautery unit
Idexx diagnostic machines including blood gas, blood typing, cortisol, bile acids, clotting times, SediVue
VetFlex ICU oxygen cages and monitoring equipment
Vetspire veterinary software, Cubex inventory management, and a fully stocked pharmacy
The practice encourages collaboration, case reviews, and mentorship, with monthly doctor meetings, shift-change rounds, and externship opportunities for aspiring veterinarians and technician students.

Responsibilities
Provide high-quality emergency care and surgery for small animals
Mentor and collaborate with other veterinarians and support staff
Maintain a positive clinic culture and uphold veterinary standards and ethics
Communicate effectively with clients to ensure trust and clarity in patient care
Participate in case reviews, rounds, and ongoing professional development
Candidate Profile
Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) or equivalent from an accredited university
Active veterinary state license
DEA license (or ability to obtain upon hire)
Compassionate, collaborative, and strong communicator
Interested in mentorship and team collaboration
Open to both full-time and part-time schedules
