A well-equipped, emergency-only veterinary hospital in Trussville, Alabama is seeking a dedicated Emergency Veterinarian to join their collaborative clinical team. This role is focused exclusively on urgent, critical, and after-hours care, offering the opportunity to practice high-level emergency medicine without the demands of routine wellness appointments.

About the Practice
The hospital operates strictly as an emergency facility, providing care during nights, weekends, and holidays when general practices are closed. Their clinical focus includes triage, diagnostics, stabilization, emergency surgery, and critical care.
The practice is supported by experienced licensed technicians and utilizes advanced diagnostic and treatment tools, allowing veterinarians to deliver timely, high-quality care during life-threatening situations.
Responsibilities
Manage emergency and critical care cases including trauma, toxicities, respiratory distress, GDV, heatstroke, envenomation, and surgical emergencies
Perform emergency diagnostics, stabilization, and treatment with confidence and efficiency
Collaborate closely with technicians and support staff during overnight and high-acuity shifts
Communicate clearly and compassionately with pet owners during stressful situations
Maintain thorough medical records and uphold professional and ethical standards
Candidate Profile
Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM/VMD) from an accredited institution
Active Alabama veterinary license (or ability to obtain)
Emergency or critical care experience preferred but not required
Confident clinical decision-maker with the ability to work independently with support
Calm, focused demeanor in high-pressure environments
Strong communication skills and commitment to excellent patient outcomes
Compensation & Benefits
