A rapidly growing emergency and specialty hospital is seeking a full-time Emergency Veterinarian to join their 24/7 Emergency & Critical Care team in Ventura, California. About the Practice
The practice is a state-of-the-art emergency and specialty hospital providing 24/7 emergency and critical care services to small animal patients. They support both walk-in emergencies and referral cases from the local primary care community.
The emergency department includes a fully equipped multi-unit ICU, separate isolation facilities, and a dedicated feline area. Emergency clinicians benefit from in-house specialty support, including internal medicine services available most days for consultation and collaboration.

Responsibilities
Provide emergency and critical care to small animal patients
Perform emergency diagnostics, stabilization, and surgical procedures
Manage ICU and hospitalized patients in collaboration with the care team
Communicate clearly and compassionately with clients during high-stress situations
Collaborate with specialists and emergency clinicians through daily rounds
Maintain accurate and timely medical records
Uphold clinical standards and best practices in emergency medicine
Candidate Profile
DVM or equivalent from an accredited veterinary school
Active California veterinary license (or ability to obtain)
Emergency or critical care experience preferred but not required
Strong interest in emergency medicine and surgery
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, multi-doctor environment
Compassionate, detail-oriented, and team-focused approach
Compensation & Benefits
Salary: $175,000 – $250,000 (DOE)
Guaranteed base salary with additional production-based compensation
