A full-service veterinary hospital in Lafayette, LA, is seeking a Full-Time Hospital Veterinarian to provide high-quality medical, surgical, and dental care for dogs, cats, and exotic pets. Responsibilities
Perform physical exams, diagnose and treat medical conditions, and provide preventive care tailored to patient needs
Conduct routine and complex surgical procedures including spays/neuters, mass removals, and dentals
Develop treatment plans for hospitalized and day-care patients, ensuring continuity of care with referral hospitals when needed
Document all patient observations, diagnostics, treatments, and client interactions accurately
Participate in rounds and knowledge-sharing to enhance team learning and care standards
Uphold hospital protocols, safety standards, and high-quality patient care
Candidate Profile
Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM or VMD) from an AVMA-accredited school
Licensed to practice veterinary medicine in Louisiana in good standing
Active DEA and Controlled Substance licenses, or ability to obtain by start date
Proficient in anesthesia, routine surgeries, and dental procedures
Excellent communication skills and professional demeanor in stressful situations
Team player, motivated to learn, and adaptable to evolving practice protocols
