Responsibilities

  • Perform physical exams, diagnose and treat medical conditions, and provide preventive care tailored to patient needs

  • Conduct routine and complex surgical procedures including spays/neuters, mass removals, and dentals

  • Develop treatment plans for hospitalized and day-care patients, ensuring continuity of care with referral hospitals when needed

  • Document all patient observations, diagnostics, treatments, and client interactions accurately

  • Participate in rounds and knowledge-sharing to enhance team learning and care standards

  • Uphold hospital protocols, safety standards, and high-quality patient care

Candidate Profile

  • Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM or VMD) from an AVMA-accredited school

  • Licensed to practice veterinary medicine in Louisiana in good standing

  • Active DEA and Controlled Substance licenses, or ability to obtain by start date

  • Proficient in anesthesia, routine surgeries, and dental procedures

  • Excellent communication skills and professional demeanor in stressful situations

  • Team player, motivated to learn, and adaptable to evolving practice protocols
