The Opportunity:
An established and community-focused small animal hospital is actively seeking a Medical Director to lead its growing practice. This role is ideal for a natural leader ready to take the reins and shape the clinical and cultural direction of the hospital, working closely with an experienced practice manager and a dedicated support team.

This is a highly collaborative environment where patient care, team development, and community engagement are top priorities. The incoming Medical Director will be empowered with the autonomy to implement their leadership style while also benefiting from the backing of a respected veterinary group.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the hospital’s clinical operations and veterinary team
  • Drive standards of care through mentorship, collaboration, and clinical oversight
  • Partner with the Practice Manager to drive growth and operational efficiency
  • Maintain high levels of client satisfaction and community engagement
  • Influence and enhance practice culture through leadership and team development
  • Balance clinical duties with leadership responsibilities (scheduling tailored accordingly)


Ideal Candidate Profile:

  • DVM or VMD from an accredited veterinary college
  • Active veterinary license (or eligibility) in the practicing state
  • Prior leadership or management experience preferred but not required
  • Strong clinical competence in small animal medicine and surgery
  • Passionate about community involvement and client relationships
  • Approachable, empathetic, and team-oriented leadership style
