Responsibilities
Provide medical leadership and strategic direction for the hospital’s veterinary team
Uphold and maintain high medical quality standards, including patient care, safety, and client satisfaction
Foster a collaborative and clinician-driven culture focused on learning and professional growth
Support clinical recruiting, engagement, and retention initiatives
Build and maintain strong relationships with referring veterinarians and partner clinics
Participate in case consultations, CE presentations, and referral outreach activities
Partner with hospital administration to implement operational and quality improvement initiatives
Promote an engaging and supportive workplace culture for veterinarians and support staff
Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate is an experienced veterinarian who combines strong clinical expertise with leadership capability and a collaborative mindset.
Candidates should demonstrate:
DVM or equivalent veterinary degree with eligibility for licensure in Iowa
Several years of clinical veterinary experience, ideally in emergency or specialty settings
A passion for mentorship, leadership, and team development
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
The ability to build trusted relationships with colleagues, staff, and referring veterinarians
