About the Role
A progressive small animal hospital with a GP + urgent care model is seeking a Medical Director to lead their clinical team in Simi Valley, California. This full-time leadership role offers the clinical variety of emergency and urgent care medicine without overnight, on-call, or ER graveyard shifts.

The practice is a modern small animal hospital blending general practice and urgent care, allowing veterinarians to see a diverse caseload while maintaining predictable hours. The hospital is well-equipped with digital full-body and dental radiography, ultrasound, in-house laboratory diagnostics, cold laser therapy, and a dedicated surgical suite.

Responsibilities
Provide high-quality medical, surgical, and urgent care services
Lead and support the veterinary team through mentorship and clinical guidance
Establish and uphold medical standards and protocols
Perform procedures in a fully equipped surgical suite with skilled technician support
Communicate effectively with clients to build trust and ensure excellent care
Collaborate with hospital leadership on clinical and operational initiatives
Candidate Profile
DVM or equivalent from an accredited veterinary school
Licensed or license-eligible in California
Experience in general practice, urgent care, or emergency medicine
Strong leadership, communication, and decision-making skills
Positive, professional, and collaborative approach to teamwork
Compensation & Benefits
Competitive base salary with production (Pro-Sal) bonuses. Salary ranging from $210,000 to $230,000
