About the Role
Are you ready to advance your veterinary career while still practicing hands-on medicine? We are seeking a full-time Medical Director to lead and mentor a talented veterinary team, set medical standards, and contribute to a collaborative, growth-focused practice. Hours consist of Monday to Friday, 7:45 AM to 5:15 PM.
This role balances leadership with patient care, offering no on-call duties, a last appointment at 5:00 PM, and a supportive team environment that allows you to focus on medicine and professional development.
About the Practice
Join a welcoming, modern veterinary hospital committed to high-quality small animal care. The hospital is equipped with digital and dental radiography, ultrasound, and in-house lab capabilities, providing a full suite of diagnostic and preventative services.
Experienced Registered Veterinary Technicians and administrative staff provide strong support, ensuring you have the resources to lead effectively while delivering excellent patient care. The practice also hosts student externs for mentorship opportunities and fosters a culture of diversity, inclusion, and professional growth.
Responsibilities
Lead and mentor the veterinary team to ensure clinical excellence
Set and maintain high medical standards across the practice
Provide hands-on medical, surgical, and dental care
Collaborate with hospital leadership on operations, strategy, and staff development
Support student externs and staff education initiatives
Contribute to a culture of inclusivity, collaboration, and professional growth
Candidate Profile
Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) or VMD from an accredited institution
Valid veterinary license in North Carolina
Previous clinical experience; leadership or mentorship experience preferred
Strong communication and team leadership skills
Passion for small animal medicine, education, and professional development
Compensation & Benefits
Salary: $120,000 – $150,000 per year
Sign-On Bonus: $20,000
Paid Time Off: 12 days per year plus paid CE days
