About the Role
This Medical Lead Veterinarian role is a key leadership position within a busy, AAHA-accredited small animal practice. You will mentor and develop associate veterinarians, collaborate with management to drive hospital performance, and set the standard for clinical excellence.
Key responsibilities include:
Leading and mentoring the DVM team, conducting regular performance discussions, coaching on development goals, and fostering a culture of collaboration and retention
Role-modeling medical excellence while practicing as an associate veterinarian and achieving production goals
Partnering with management to develop annual operating plans, manage hospital performance, and ensure compliance with all medical and regulatory standards
Driving a culture of growth through monthly doctor meetings, externship supervision, mentorship programs, and recruitment initiatives
Representing the hospital and network through community engagement

Candidate Profile
Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) with a valid state license
Minimum 2 years of practical clinical experience

Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
Understanding of hospital operations and financial management (or willingness to learn)
Intermediate computer skills (MS Office, Outlook, etc.)
