Salary: £70,000 - £75,000 depending on experience

An established and rapidly expanding accountancy practice is seeking an ambitious and strategically minded Accounts Director to join their leadership team in Birmingham.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a commercially focused professional to take a senior position within a growing firm, helping to shape and deliver the future of its Accountancy services in the West Midlands region.
As part of the Senior Management Team, you will play an instrumental role in developing client relationships, driving business growth, and mentoring a talented team, all while contributing to the firm’s broader strategic direction.
The Role of Accounts Director
Working closely with partners and the senior leadership team, your key responsibilities will include:

Building and maintaining strong relationships with owner-managed and corporate clients, ensuring the delivery of a trusted advisory service.

Leading the development and growth of the Birmingham office, including recruitment, coaching, and team development.

Playing a pivotal role in business development, leveraging your network to attract new clients and opportunities.

Monitoring developments in the accountancy marketplace and promoting best practice, particularly in cloud-based and outsourced services.

Supporting the delivery of the firm’s strategic growth plan for accounting and advisory services.

Working collaboratively across departments to enhance service quality, innovation, and client experience.
About You
We’re looking for an experienced and driven Accounts Director with:

ACA or ACCA qualification

A proven background in a business services or accountancy practice environment.

Strong business development skills, with the ability to network effectively and identify new opportunities.

Excellent communication and leadership skills, capable of influencing at all levels.

Experience managing and developing teams to reach their full potential.

A commercial, forward-thinking mindset with a passion for client service and strategic growth.
