Join a Growing Exeter Accountancy Firm as an Accountant

An independent, fast-growing accountancy firm in Exeter is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Accountant to join their close-knit team. This role is ideal for someone who is qualified or part-qualified, enjoys client interaction, and wants to contribute to a supportive, family-style workplace. Flexible full-time or part-time hours are available, including hybrid working options.

Salary & Benefits:

  • £30,000 – £45,000 per year, dependent on experience

  • Full-time or part-time (minimum 3 days per week) considered

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare statutory accounts using IRIS software and Excel

  • Prepare VAT and tax returns for clients

  • Handle routine client queries, including support with Sage and Xero

  • Manage workload effectively to meet deadlines and client expectations

  • Support partners or senior managers with client management

  • Participate in team activities and contribute to efficient, client-focused service

Requirements:

  • Qualified or part-qualified accountant

  • Minimum 2 years’ practice experience (5+ years preferred for client manager level)

  • Experience in audit and accounts preparation advantageous

  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills

  • Self-motivated with excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • Comfortable working in a hybrid or office-based environment
