About the Role
We are seeking a skilled Accounting Technician to join a busy Eastbourne accounts practice. This is a fantastic opportunity for an AAT-qualified professional (or equivalent) to grow their career while working on a variety of accounting and tax compliance tasks.
As part of the Accounts team, you will assist clients with personal tax, business accounts, VAT compliance, and bookkeeping, ensuring the highest technical and professional standards.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare sole trader accounts, personal tax returns, company accounts, and corporation tax returns
Provide VAT advice and compliance services
Assist clients with Xero bookkeeping queries
Review client and HMRC correspondence; draft responses or communicate directly with clients
Maintain professional relationships with clients and colleagues
Support ongoing learning through training and CPD programmes
Participate in wider practice activities as required
Skills & Experience
AAT qualified (or equivalent)
Proven experience in accounts preparation within an accountancy practice
Proficiency with Xero and other bookkeeping software
Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities
Investigative problem solver with excellent communication skills
IT literate, confident in MS Excel and Word
