An independent accountancy practice just outside the centre of Harrogate is recruiting an Accounts and Audit Senior to join their experienced team. With over 40 years of industry experience, the firm supports businesses across all sectors, providing high-quality accounting, audit, and advisory services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead statutory audit assignments as part of a wider audit team

  • Supervise and support audit and accounts assistants and trainees

  • Prepare year-end statutory accounts under FRS105 and FRS102, including group consolidations

  • Draft corporation tax computations

  • Assist clients with bookkeeping, VAT returns, and cloud-based accounting software (Xero, QuickBooks)

  • Provide practical client advisory support

Ideal Candidate

  • ACA or ACCA qualified

  • Experience leading company audits within a practice environment

  • Strong knowledge of UK accounting and audit standards

  • Excellent communication and client-facing skills

  • Ability to mentor junior staff and manage deadlines effectively

  • Familiarity with Xero, QuickBooks, and cloud-based accounting solutions
