Role Overview
We are seeking an Accounts & Audit Senior to join the practice and deliver high-quality audit and accounts work across a varied client portfolio. This role offers ownership of audit assignments and accounting deliverables, alongside opportunities to support advisory engagements and mentor junior staff.
Key Responsibilities
Lead audit engagements: plan, execute and complete audits in accordance with professional standards
Prepare and review statutory accounts for limited companies, partnerships and sole traders
Produce management accounts and financial reporting packs for clients
Complete reconciliations, control accounts and supporting schedules
Prepare and review tax computations including corporation and personal tax returns
Act as a key client contact, building strong trusted relationships and providing pragmatic advice
Supervise, coach and develop junior colleagues on audit and accounting assignments
Contribute to workflow planning, reviewing work to ensure accuracy and compliance
Support broader business advisory projects and client service improvements
Ideal Candidate Profile
Part-qualified (ACA / ACCA / Chartered Certified) or experienced in an audit/accountancy practice
Proven experience leading audit assignments and preparing accounts in a practice environment
Strong technical knowledge of auditing standards, accounting principles and tax compliance
Excellent communication and client-facing skills
Comfortable working independently and managing multiple deadlines
Proficient with auditing software and cloud accounting platforms (e.g., Xero, Sage, QuickBooks)
Organised, proactive and able to mentor junior colleagues
