About the Role
We’re representing a well-established professional services firm with a strong and growing Accounts & Business Advisory function. Due to continued expansion, they are seeking an Accounts & Business Advisory Assistant Manager to join their Edinburgh team. This is a client-facing role offering responsibility for portfolio management, team development, and delivering high-quality advisory-led services, with clear progression toward Manager level.
Key Responsibilities

Manage day-to-day client relationships, identifying when to escalate issues and when to proactively deliver solutions.

Oversee and manage a client portfolio, including the review of statutory financial statements and management accounts.

Interpret financial statements and clearly summarise key insights and commercial implications for clients.

Coach, supervise, and develop Associates and Senior Associates within the team.

Proactively identify opportunities to deliver additional value and advisory services to clients.

Review client work to ensure consistently high technical standards and compliance with internal processes.

Provide clear guidance on medium-complexity technical matters.

Drive collaboration and engagement across the wider Accounts & Business Advisory team.
Ideal Candidate Profile

ACA / ACCA / CA qualified, or qualified by experience.

Proven experience within an accountancy practice, ideally in accounts and business advisory.

Ability to work autonomously across most areas of client work.

Strong technical knowledge of statutory accounts and management accounts.

Experience supervising and developing junior team members.

Excellent organisational and time management skills with the ability to prioritise effectively.

Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a collaborative approach.
