About the Role

We’re representing a leading Top 10 accountancy practice with a strong UK and international presence and an excellent reputation within the SME market. Due to continued growth, they are seeking an Accounts & Business Advisory Senior to join their Edinburgh office. This role offers increasing portfolio ownership, client-facing responsibility, and a clear pathway toward management within a supportive and progressive advisory team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Take increasing ownership of a client portfolio with support from senior management.

  • Produce and review more complex annual statutory accounts, providing best-practice recommendations for partner review.

  • Support clients from an accounting and business advisory perspective.

  • Begin developing long-term, trusted client relationships.

  • Mentor and support junior team members, acting as a day-to-day point of contact.

  • Work both autonomously and collaboratively within the wider team.

  • Maintain high levels of communication with clients, managers, and colleagues.

  • Manage chargeable time budgets and work towards utilisation targets.

  • Accurately complete timesheets with clear narration of work undertaken.

  • Assist with the fee process and contribute to revenue and profitability targets.

Ideal Candidate Profile

  • ACA / ACCA / CA newly qualified (or equivalent).

  • Proven experience in a similar role within an accountancy practice.

  • Strong technical knowledge of statutory accounts preparation.

  • Confident communicator with experience supporting and advising clients.

  • Proactive mindset with an interest in developing people and client management skills.

  • Ability to manage workload effectively and meet deadlines.
