Salary: £53,000 - £70,000
Location: Cambridge (Great Shelford)
Hours: Full-time (part-time, four days/week considered)

A well-established Chartered Accountants and Chartered Tax Advisors firm in Great Shelford, Cambridge, is seeking an Accounts & Tax Manager to join their highly experienced team. This is an excellent opportunity for an ACA/ACCA qualified professional to manage client portfolios, provide expert technical advice, and contribute to the continued growth and innovation of a progressive practice.

Accounts & Tax Manager Responsibilities

  • Prepare accounts for limited companies, partnerships, sole traders, and trusts

  • Prepare Corporation Tax returns, business tax computations, and personal tax returns

  • Review internally and externally prepared bookkeeping and management accounts

  • Perform occasional audit work as required

  • Research technical accounting and tax issues relevant to clients

  • Lead client meetings and calls, explaining accounts and tax matters clearly

  • Manage your own portfolio of clients and provide proactive advice

  • Support colleagues and contribute to practice development, systems, and growth initiatives

  • Assist partners with client acquisition, business wins, and new opportunities

Candidate Requirements

  • ACA/ACCA qualified

  • Minimum 5 years’ post-qualification experience in practice

  • Technically strong and independent, with experience in FRS102, FRS105, Corporation Tax, and personal tax for small businesses

  • Skilled in Excel and familiar with accounting software such as Xero, QuickBooks, Sage

  • Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills

  • Confident leading client meetings and calls

  • Experience in audit work and keen to broaden skills

  • Proactive, inquisitive, and able to suggest advice and improvements independently
