Role Overview
An opportunity for an experienced Accounts Assistant Manager to take ownership of a growing client portfolio while supporting team development and process improvement. This role blends hands-on accounts and tax work with client management and leadership responsibility, offering a clear pathway for progression within a growing practice environment.
Key Responsibilities
Manage a portfolio of accounts clients, acting as the main point of contact
Oversee preparation of statutory accounts for limited companies
Manage preparation and review of corporation tax returns
Oversee VAT return preparation and compliance
Deliver additional client services including management accounts and forecasting
Support, train and develop junior team members
Assist senior management with process improvements and workflow efficiencies
Ensure high standards of technical accuracy and client service delivery
Ideal Candidate Profile
ACA or ACCA qualified with a strong background in accountancy practice
Senior Accountant or Assistant Manager level with 5+ years’ practice experience
Excellent attention to detail and strong technical accounting knowledge
Highly organised with effective time management and prioritisation skills
Confident communicator with strong client-facing and telephone skills
Proactive, self-motivated and forward-thinking approach
Trusted to handle confidential information with professionalism
