Accounts Manager – Edinburgh

Salary: £50,000 – £60,000 (depending on experience and qualifications)

  • Manage a portfolio of clients (primarily limited companies) providing accounting, compliance, and advisory services

  • Build trusted client relationships and provide practical, commercial advice

  • Lead and develop junior team members while driving efficiency and portfolio growth

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage client portfolios and provide hands-on service, advice, and solutions

  • Review accounts, returns, and tax work; provide guidance to colleagues

  • Plan assignments, manage budgets, and meet efficiency and recovery targets

  • Allocate work across the team, monitor progress, and ensure timely client service

  • Support business development by preparing quotes and recommending solutions

  • Contribute to billing, recoveries, and portfolio financial management

  • Stay up to date with regulatory changes and share knowledge with team and clients

  • Promote effective use of technology and best practice processes

Skills & Experience

  • Fully qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA or equivalent)

  • Proven experience managing client portfolios

  • Leadership experience in a similar role

  • Strong technical knowledge of accounting, tax, and compliance

  • Proficiency with accounting and tax software
