The Role – Accounts Technician, Workington
As an Accounts Technician, you will support clients with bookkeeping, management accounts, and financial reporting, ensuring accuracy and compliance. You will play a key role in helping businesses manage their finances effectively and providing practical advice on accounting and tax matters.
Responsibilities include:

Preparing bookkeeping, management accounts, and financial statements for multiple clients

Assisting with VAT returns, payroll, and compliance tasks

Supporting clients with routine tax planning and financial queries

Maintaining accurate and up-to-date client records

Liaising with senior colleagues to ensure client needs are met

Identifying opportunities to improve efficiency and accuracy in client accounts
Candidate Requirements

AAT qualified (or part-qualified progressing towards ACA/ACCA)

Previous experience in bookkeeping, accounts preparation, or accounting practice

Strong numeracy, attention to detail, and commercial awareness

Excellent communication and client-facing skills

Organised and able to manage multiple client accounts effectively
