The Role
The successful candidate will work across both audit and accounts, supporting a varied portfolio of clients and taking responsibility for delivering high-quality accounting and audit work.
Key responsibilities will include:
Preparing statutory accounts for sole traders, partnerships and limited companies
Assisting with the planning and completion of audit assignments
Working across a variety of industries and client types
Collaborating with senior team members to deliver client work accurately and on time
Preparing VAT returns
Preparing corporation tax computations
Liaising directly with clients and responding to accounting and tax queries
Providing financial guidance and support to clients where appropriate
Supporting and mentoring junior members of the team
Maintaining high standards of accuracy and client service

About the Candidate
The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years' experience working within an accountancy practice and be looking to progress their career in a role offering broader responsibilities.
Candidates should have:
AAT Level 3/4, or be part-qualified ACA/ACCA, or have equivalent experience
At least 2 years' accountancy practice experience
Experience preparing accounts for a range of business structures
An understanding of audit processes and procedures
Experience with VAT and corporation tax
Good knowledge of accounting software and Microsoft Office
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Excellent attention to detail
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
A proactive and professional approach to client service
