Audit Associate Manager – Up to £46,500 – South Manchester | Accountancy Practice

We are working with a well-established independent accountancy practice in South Manchester to recruit an Audit Associate Manager. This opportunity offers a salary of up to £46,500, clear progression, and the chance to work with a varied portfolio of SME clients across the North West.

What you will do

Audit Delivery

  • Support in managing and delivering audit assignments across a mixed client portfolio

  • Assist with planning, fieldwork, and completion stages

  • Review work completed by junior team members

  • Ensure audits are delivered within deadlines and budgets

  • Help maintain strong technical standards across the audit process

Team Support and Development

  • Guide and support junior colleagues during audit engagements

  • Provide coaching and feedback to help develop their skills

  • Lead smaller teams on site and take responsibility for day-to-day workflow

Client Relationships

  • Build positive working relationships with clients across sectors such as manufacturing, TMT, lifestyle, and leisure

  • Develop an understanding of each client’s business to support meaningful recommendations

  • Maintain a professional, reliable approach and ensure client satisfaction

Compliance and Quality

  • Help ensure audit work complies with internal processes and external regulations

  • Assist in reviewing accounts, tax computations, and accompanying documentation

  • Keep technical knowledge current through training and CPD activities


What you need

  • ACA or ACCA qualified (or equivalent)

  • Strong audit experience within an accountancy practice

  • Experience working with SME clients

  • Ability to support and guide junior team members

  • Good working knowledge of Excel

  • Experience with tools such as Power BI or Data Snipper is useful

  • An interest in emerging technology including AI is welcomed
