About the Role
A leading independent chartered accountancy firm in Chester is seeking an experienced Audit Semi-Senior or Senior to strengthen its Audit team.
This role offers the opportunity to plan and perform audits, prepare financial statements, support the audit manager, and mentor junior team members. Training will be provided on software such as CCH Accounts Production, Audit Automation, and Alphatax.
Key Responsibilities
Plan and perform audit testing for small and medium-sized companies and charities
Complete external audit engagements from start to finish
Train, supervise, and review the work of audit assistants
Support and report to the Audit Manager
Prepare financial statements for charities and SMEs as part of audit engagements
Prepare corporation tax calculations for audit clients
Ensure accuracy, compliance, and adherence to accounting and auditing standards
Skills & Experience
12–24 months’ experience in a similar audit role
ACA or ACCA qualified (part-qualified considered)
Strong communication skills; confident liaising with clients, managers, and assistants
Attention to detail with strong technical ability
Desire to learn and develop professional skills
Experience with CCH Accounts Production, Audit Automation, and Alphatax preferred but not essential
