About the Role
An established and growing independent accountancy practice in Bolton is seeking an experienced Audit Senior to join their dynamic and supportive team. This role is ideal for a motivated individual looking to take ownership of audit assignments, mentor junior team members, and develop within a progressive, client-focused firm.
Reporting directly to the Directors, you will be responsible for overseeing and executing a range of financial and operational audits, ensuring high-quality delivery and strong client relationships.
Key Responsibilities
Planning and Execution

Plan, lead, and oversee audit engagements across a varied portfolio of clients.

Allocate work and responsibilities to junior team members.

Conduct risk assessments and evaluate internal controls.

Execute audit fieldwork in line with audit plans and firm methodologies.
Supervision and Mentoring

Supervise, review, and support the work of junior auditors.

Provide on-the-job training and mentoring to support professional growth.

Foster a collaborative team environment built on integrity and development.
Communication and Reporting

Communicate audit findings and recommendations clearly to management and clients.

Prepare and present comprehensive audit reports.

Collaborate closely with Managers and Directors throughout audit engagements.
Compliance and Risk Management

Ensure all work complies with accounting standards and regulatory requirements.

Identify, assess, and report on key risks in financial reporting and operations.

Develop and present recommendations to mitigate identified risks.
Client Relationship Management

Build and maintain trusted relationships with a diverse client base.

Advise clients on accounting, audit, and business matters.

Deliver exceptional client service and act as a key point of contact throughout engagements.
Ideal Candidate Profile

ACA / ACCA qualified, part-qualified, or qualified by experience.

Previous experience working as an Audit Senior or in a similar role within practice.

Excellent analytical and review skills with strong attention to detail.

Effective communicator with the ability to build strong working relationships.

A self-starter with motivation to manage projects through to completion.

Honest, professional, and proactive approach with a commitment to quality.

Demonstrated ability to coach and support junior team members.
