Audit Senior Job – Manchester City Centre | £40,000 – £50,000 | Hybrid Working

A growing independent Chartered Accountancy and Business Advisory firm in Manchester is looking to recruit a qualified Audit Senior to join its expanding team.

This is an excellent opportunity for an ACA or ACCA qualified Audit Senior in Manchester who is looking to progress their career within a supportive firm that offers exposure to a broad client base and clear progression opportunities.

The successful candidate will work with a wide range of businesses including start-ups, SMEs, and owner-managed companies with turnovers of up to £200 million, providing varied and interesting audit assignments across multiple sectors.


Salary & Benefits

  • Salary: £40,000 – £50,000 depending on experience

Audit Senior Role – Manchester

The Audit Senior will be responsible for managing a portfolio of audit clients and leading audit assignments from planning through to completion.

This role offers strong exposure to a varied client base while providing the opportunity to develop leadership skills and support junior members of the team.


Audit Senior Responsibilities

  • Plan and manage a portfolio of audit clients

  • Lead audit assignments from initial planning through to final completion

  • Prepare statutory accounts for limited companies

  • Monitor job progress and billing targets

  • Maintain strong working relationships with clients

  • Ensure all work complies with UK auditing and financial regulations

  • Use accounting software including CCH, Sage and Xero

  • Deliver high-quality audit and accounts work within deadlines

  • Respond to client queries efficiently and professionally

  • Support and mentor trainees and junior team members


Requirements

  • ACA or ACCA qualified

  • Proven experience working as an Audit Senior within an accountancy practice

  • Strong knowledge of audit, accounts and tax

  • Experience working with SMEs and owner-managed businesses

  • Excellent communication and client management skills

  • Able to commute to Manchester City Centre
