Role Overview
An experienced Audit Senior is being sought to join a well-established and growing accountancy practice in Wigan. This role offers the opportunity to lead audit assignments from planning through to completion while working closely with both clients and internal teams.
The Audit Senior will play a key role in delivering high-quality audit work, maintaining strong client relationships, and supporting the development of junior team members. This position would suit a qualified accountant who enjoys working in practice and is confident managing multiple engagements.
Key Responsibilities

Lead audit assignments from planning through to completion

Manage on-site audit work and ensure resources are allocated effectively

Ensure audits comply with regulatory standards and internal quality procedures

Review work completed by junior staff and provide constructive feedback

Prepare audit findings and highlight key risks and areas for improvement

Build and maintain strong relationships with clients

Work collaboratively with other service lines where clients receive multiple services

Support the development and mentoring of junior team members
Requirements

ACA or ACCA qualified, or equivalent experience

Strong experience in audit within an accountancy practice

Solid understanding of UK auditing standards and accounting frameworks including FRS and IFRS

Experience managing client relationships and delivering high-quality work

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Ability to support and mentor junior staff

Experience with audit software such as CCH or Inflo would be beneficial
