Bookkeeper Job (Practice)
Salary: £24,000 - £30,000
Location: Bromsgrove, Worcestershire
Contract: Full-time, hybrid working
An well established, local accountancy practice is seeking a detail orientated Bookkeeper to join their team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys building strong client relationships, thrives in a busy environment, and wants to develop their career within a supportive and professional practice.
The Role of Bookkeeper
As a Bookkeeper, you will manage a portfolio of clients and ensure accurate processing of financial information to support VAT submissions, management reporting, ensuring that the final accounts can be produced. You will work closely with Client Managers and occasionally support wider team needs.
Key Responsibilities

Processing purchase and sales invoices

Uploading and matching bank transactions

Completing bank reconciliations

Reviewing trade debtor and creditor balances

Preparing documentation for review by Client Managers

Responding to ad-hoc client queries

Visiting clients on-site when required

Supporting internal team training
This is a client-facing role with regular monthly deadlines, ideal for someone who can prioritise effectively and manage workflow in a practice environment.
About You
The ideal Bookkeeper will demonstrate:
- Previous bookkeeping experience within an accountancy practice

Strong organisational skills and confidence working to deadlines

Excellent attention to detail and accuracy

Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team

Experience of working directly with clients
Desirable
- AAT or similar qualification (or working toward it)

Experience using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)

Full UK driving licence (required due to occasional client visits)
Qualifications

Minimum of 5 GCSEs (grade 6/B or above), including Maths and English

A-levels at grade B or above preferred
