Business Services Senior – Carlisle or Penrith, Cumbria | £32,000–£40,000 (DOE)

Our client, a respected and long-established accountancy practice in the North of England, is looking to appoint a Business Services Senior to join their specialist Agriculture Team, based in either Carlisle or Penrith. This is an exciting opportunity for a qualified accountant to work with a broad range of agricultural clients, delivering tailored accounting and business advisory services.

Key Responsibilities

The Business Services Senior will be responsible for:

  • Preparing draft financial statements for sole traders, partnerships, and companies

  • Completing draft business tax computations for manager review

  • Preparing VAT returns, bookkeeping assignments, and management accounts

  • Assisting with the filing of financial statements and corporation tax returns

  • Raising and resolving queries with senior managers and clients as required

Candidate Requirements

The ideal candidate will have:

  • AAT, ICAS, ACA or ACCA qualification (part-qualified considered)

  • Experience working within an accountancy practice

  • Previous exposure to the agriculture sector (desirable, not essential)

  • Strong organisational and problem-solving skills

  • Ability to prioritise workloads and work well under pressure

  • A proactive, team-focused approach with excellent communication skills

  • A full UK driving licence
