Client Manager – Bristol | £40,000 – £50,000 + Bonus | Hybrid Working

A friendly and growing accountancy practice in Bristol is looking to recruit an experienced Client Manager to join its proactive and supportive team. This is an excellent opportunity for a practice accountant seeking responsibility, flexibility, and a positive working environment.

Salary: £40,000 – £50,000 (depending on experience)
Bonus: Bi-annual bonus based on company performance
Location: Bristol (office base flexible across Thornbury, Wotton-under-Edge, or Westbury-on-Trym)
Hours: Monday – Friday, 37.5 hours (flexible start and finish times)
Working Pattern: Office-based with up to 2 days per week working from home

Key Responsibilities

As Client Manager, responsibilities will include:

  • Managing a portfolio of clients, reporting directly to the Director

  • Undertaking all compliance work, including preparation of accounts, corporation tax returns, and personal tax returns using IRIS

  • Preparing bookkeeping, VAT returns, and management accounts

  • Working with accounting software including Xero, Sage, QuickBooks, Excel, and IRIS

  • Acting as the first point of contact for client day-to-day queries

  • Supporting the Director with more complex tax and planning work

  • Ensuring all work is completed accurately and to deadline

Candidate Requirements

  • ACA / ACCA qualified or qualified by experience

  • Proven experience within an accountancy practice

  • Strong working knowledge of Xero, Sage, and IRIS (training available if required)

  • Excellent communication and client-management skills

  • Ability to work independently, managing deadlines and priorities

  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail
