Client Service Manager – Newton Abbot | £45,000 – £60,000

Take Ownership of Client Accounts with a Leading Accountancy Firm in Newton Abbot

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Client Service Manager to join a reputable accountancy firm in Newton Abbot. This full-time role offers responsibility for managing client portfolios, supervising trainees, and ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting.

Salary & Benefits:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure all KPI’s and deliverables are met for each client, including VAT, CIS, and other compliance requirements

  • Maintain client accounts, verify and post transactions

  • Analyse and reconcile bank statements and general ledgers

  • Manage client invoices and payments

  • Liaise with clients and vendors to reconcile billing discrepancies

  • Resolve accounting discrepancies and irregularities

  • Record client assets and handle investments

  • Prepare Management Accounts for review

  • Manage and file relevant client documentation electronically

  • Ensure accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes

  • Communicate with clients in line with deliverables

  • Liaise with HMRC when required

  • Continuously improve and develop existing workflows

  • Monitor implementation and maintenance of bookkeeping and accounting controls

  • Assign appropriate work to trainees and supervise their outputs

  • Assist with the preparation of financial statements for sole traders, partnerships, and limited companies

  • Prepare schedules, statements, and reports as requested

  • Assist with personal tax return preparation

  • Ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations and integrity of financial data

Requirements & Skills:

  • Proven experience in client account management within an accountancy practice

  • Strong knowledge of VAT, CIS, bookkeeping, and financial reporting

  • Excellent communication, leadership, and supervisory skills

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and ensure deliverables are met

  • Detail-oriented and highly organized
