Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure all KPIs and client deliverables are met (VAT, CIS, etc.)

  • Maintain client accounts and verify/post transactions

  • Analyse and reconcile bank statements and general ledgers

  • Manage client invoices and payments, liaising with clients and vendors

  • Resolve accounting discrepancies and irregularities

  • Record client assets and manage investments

  • Prepare Management Accounts for review

  • Supervise and manage trainees’ work, assigning tasks appropriate to their skill level

  • File and maintain client documentation electronically

  • Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes

  • Liaise with HMRC as required

  • Assist with the preparation of financial statements for sole traders, partnerships, and limited companies

  • Prepare schedules, statements, reports, and assist with personal tax returns

  • Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and integrity of financial data

  • Improve and develop existing workflows and accounting control procedures

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in account management within an accountancy practice

  • Strong understanding of VAT, CIS, bookkeeping, and management accounts

  • Excellent communication, organisational, and leadership skills

  • Ability to mentor and supervise trainees effectively

  • Attention to detail and commitment to accurate, compliant financial reporting
