Client Service Manager – Paignton | £45,000 – £60,000 | Full-Time

Lead client accounts and drive service excellence with a growing team in Paignton!

Our client is seeking an experienced Client Service Manager to manage client accounts, supervise junior staff, and ensure high-quality financial reporting and compliance. This role offers hands-on accounting experience, team leadership, and exposure to a diverse client portfolio.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure all KPI’s and deliverables are met for each client (VAT, CIS, etc.)

  • Maintain client accounts, verify and post transactions

  • Analyse and reconcile bank statements and general ledgers

  • Manage client invoices and payments

  • Liaise with clients, vendors, and HMRC as required

  • Resolve accounting discrepancies and irregularities

  • Record client assets and handle investments

  • Prepare Management Accounts for review

  • Manage and file relevant client documentation electronically

  • Ensure accurate monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes

  • Support continuous improvement of workflows and accounting procedures

  • Provide appropriate work and supervision to trainees and junior staff

  • Assist with preparation of financial statements and personal tax returns

  • Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and accounting standards

Person Specification

  • Previous experience in a client-focused accounting role

  • Strong technical accounting knowledge

  • Experience supervising and mentoring junior staff

  • Excellent communication and organisational skills

  • Ability to manage multiple clients and deadlines independently

  • Proficient with accounting software and Microsoft Office
